The collection of samples for “Human Subject Research” follows IRB protocols with informed consent and is reviewed and approved by TriMetis to certify compliance.
Remnant Clinical Specimens, collected under a Non-Human Subject Research determination, adhere to 45 CFR 46 exemption 4, with consent waivers or informed consent based on the sourcing institution’s requirements. Biospecimens are typically delivered blinded, and unless requested, all HIPAA data are removed before leaving the source. Where HIPAA data is requested, TriMetis sources fully consented, IRB-approved materials and data following HIPAA and BAA regulations.
